Coming to the conclusion the motherboard is fried, if any one has a mother board sitting around & can give me it I'll happily pay for shipping costs.

You mean the 20+4 pin power plug? I think the 4 pin is required when using pci express... Hence why I asked if you have a video card, or if you are using integrated graphics. If no video card, don't use the extra 4 pins. If you are using a video card, I think the motherboard needs the extra power. ...

Ok so think I narrowed down the problem. It's the 4 pin connecter. Everything boots up without it but stops when I plug it in. Hmmm.

Wait... If the HDD light is plugged into the Power pins, what is your Power switch plugged into? Sounds to me like your pins are all mixed up. Did you download the correct manual? Every mobo has a different pin arrangement, for some stupid reason. There's even a picture on the fucking motherboard l...
