Long time, no play.

Post by perrinoia »

Normally, my seasonal employment would fizzle out around Halloween, which means I'd normally have time to play more often starting in October.

However, as you've probably noticed, I haven't logged on once, this winter.

There are two reasons. My seasonal employment is no longer seasonal and I lost my computer.

Last spring, I started maintaining the mooring field. Inspections, winterization, reinstallation, etc... Now I'm busy year round.

Last week, I brought my Microsoft surface into work to do some paperwork on a day that was too crappy to work on the boat and I haven't been able to find it since.

I remember packing it up and walking out the door with it in hand, and then I went to my aunt and uncle's condo for dinner. I don't recall putting my briefcase in my car, nor bringing it into my aunt and uncle's condo. So it disappeared somewhere between work and my car, I think. Unless someone stole it from my car.

I usually lock the doors, so I dunno how that would have happened.

Anywho, I'm on the lookout for a cheap Microsoft surface book. Preferably with an i7 CPU and nVidia GPU...

Man, sorry to hear that Perr. I don't have anything with that power besides what I'm currently using. The only other laptop I have only has a Duo Core Processor with Windows Vista on it and the towers I have with Pentiums. I'll keep an eye out for one at a decent price and PM you if I find one within the company I'm at.

Thanks.

Here are some photos of my new dinghy.

Nevermind, someone restricted attachment size even though attachments were already resized when posted...

I'm too lazy to crop on my phone.

Here's a link to the ad, which the seller hasn't taken down yet.

I found my Surface last night. It has been hiding next to the time clock at work all along.

It's got the right guts, but if I'm going to replace my Microsoft surface pro 2, it's going to be a Microsoft surface book. Preferably the 15" version. They currently cost around $2500 refurbished, but I don't want to spend more than $1000, so I guess I'll stick with my pro 2, since I found it.
