Massive GeoCities archive (online and downloadable)

Post by Nightmare OG »

I've recently been on a PC/Internet nostalgia kick and have been digging around finding my way around resurrecting some of the internet's history. Upon my research i discovered that a team of archivers managed to grab a wopping 656 GB worth of GeoCities webpages. https://www.wired.com/2010/11/geocities ... -download/ Also look at: http://www.oocities.org/

This is a massive trip down memory lane for me. Looking at these old sites brings back so many memories. I downloaded Netscape Navigator 9 just for nostalgia purposes (not my primary browser ofcourse. Also making this post using it) and the site works wonderful on it. I haven't tested it with Wayback Machine, but i'll get there.

I also think an Angelfire archive is in the works as well.

If you want to take a big trip down memory lane and explore some of the internets history, check out Oocities.org.
