is there a demo cam for 1.4 that lets me view other playing as well, i would like to review some demos....

I believe the original demo cam is compatible with 1.4x.

If not, I rewrote it, awhile ago... I'll dig up the script when I get home from Antigua.

None of them allow you to observe from other player's perspectives, though... You don't have access to client our player id's to mount the camera on, in a demo.

Yeah... Demo cam allows you to control playback speed or toggle between editor/player camera mode. You can create multiple editor cameras and cycle between them, but you can only follow the recording player's camera.
