well we could always release a tribes that has it pre installed already. once this is fixed i plan to update my configs and links. I've typically uploaded configs with full maps installed as well so that new comers can enjoy the full content of the game.

My next project is probably going to be a special 1.41 TRPG config. Just because I'd like to play it when in the late hours of the night.

I just created a map with one bot, and edit function AI::onDroneKilled(%aiName) to spawn a new bot, in addition to respawning the dead bot.

Entertainment until Tribes crashes from too many bots.

Why does it crash? I think the AI need a proper cleanup

This is pretty nice, but I completely agree that we need a proper baseline config with everything ready to go inside it first. Every config I have ever downloaded has been so bloated with the preferences of whoever made it. Can we not just make one good up to date tribes config with all original sounds and textures and have any extra add-ons left out to keep download size down. They can download extra favorites and the like on their own once they know enough to even know what it does.

actually I'm guilty of this. mostly cause i'm lazy.

I typically don't optimize png textures
usually bloated with my many recording files which I usually forget to delete upon zipping full builds
usually bloated with bmps from printscreening events and scores.

so with that said i'm going to make that my first line of tasks.

Make multiple versions...

One should have low resolutions textures, tweaked for netbooks.
The other should have high resolution textures, tweaked for gaming rigs.

Neither should have any screenshots, logs, or demos, in the zip.
Both should have an auto update script.
